John Royce Mathis    é um cantor e compositor americano. Nasceu no Texas, Estados Unidos, em 1935 e adotou o nome artístico de Johnny Mathis.  O último de uma longa lista de vocalistas masculinos que emergiram antes que o rock dominasse na década de 1960, Mathis concentrou-se em canções românticas para a audiência adulta. Vários álbuns seus alcançaram discos de ouro e platina. Sensível aos problemas sociais, várias foram as entidades que se beneficiaram com a sua generosidade: The Cancer Society, March Of Dimes,YWCA.
